Schools are designed to be open and inviting, not like a prison to keep people in and others out. Nearly all classroom doors have some kind of window in them. These windows allow light in and out, allow teachers to see who may be at their door and to allow administrators to walk the halls and look in classrooms without disturbing the class.
It be came apparent from our research, that windows are the weakest security point of a classroom door, this is when we began to think of ways to allow teachers to still use their windows for the intended purpose and at the same time make it more difficult for an intruder to enter and/or use that space to use a weapon inside the locked classroom. Our solution is ReadiShield; it can be custom manufactured to fit any size door window in 4 different thicknesses of galvanized steel; 14 Gauge (5/64"), 10 Gauge (1/8"), 7 Gauge (3/16"), or 3 Gauge (1/4"). |
Our Mission
To save lives from an active shooter scenario inside schools.
